KANAGAWA · PRIVATE DAY TRIP

A Kamakura private tour,
at your own pace.

A Kamakura day trip from Tokyo combines some of Japan's best-known religious landmarks with a small-city setting close to the coast. Stand before the Great Buddha, explore Hasedera's hillside gardens and continue to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu. Between the major sights, leave room for lunch, small shops and the quieter moments that make a day feel personal.

Your private driver connects the Hase area and central Kamakura, with visits made on foot inside the temple and shrine grounds. The classic model course begins and ends at your Tokyo hotel. For a slower Kamakura private tour, choose two main sights and finish with a coastal stop instead of adding more temples.

Hasedera Temple

Hasedera combines temple buildings, gardens and a hillside outlook towards the coast. The different levels make it a rewarding place to spend time, with seasonal flowers adding variety through the year. Some sections involve steps and uphill walking. If you would like a gentler visit, tell us before booking so the route can focus on areas that suit your group.

Tsurugaoka Hachimangu

Tsurugaoka Hachimangu is closely connected with Kamakura's history and provides a spacious contrast to the smaller Hase-area visits. Explore the approach and shrine grounds at your own pace. BEFORE YOU GO

Make the day
work for you.

Kamakura roads and popular temple approaches can be busy on weekends and during flower seasons. The order of visits may change to suit traffic and opening conditions. Seasonal blooms are not guaranteed, and private transport still involves walking within the landmarks.

Tell us children's ages, luggage needs and any mobility requirements in your inquiry. Admission and meals are clarified in the quote. Temple interiors may have photography rules; follow the guidance at each site and allow enough time to enjoy the setting without rushing.

Ask for a Private Sedan, Private Van or Private Big Van suited to your party. Include the number of adults and children, luggage, children’s ages and any special requests. Vehicle availability, inclusions and the final price are confirmed in your quote.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Your Kamakura
day trip.

Ask us about your plans
Can I see the Great Buddha on a day trip from Tokyo?

Yes. The Great Buddha is the first sightseeing stop in the classic Kamakura model course, followed by nearby Hasedera Temple.

How much walking does the route involve?

Each temple and shrine is explored on foot, and Hasedera and the upper shrine at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu involve steps. Tell us your preferences so we can adjust the visits.

Can I add Enoshima?

Ask for a custom quote. Adding Enoshima usually means a longer day or fewer Kamakura stops; we will discuss what fits your desired pace.
